Kinney papers, 1895-1955.

Correspondence, ledgers, speeches, photographs and printed material relating to politics, real estate and cattle ranching in Montana and Arizona. The bulk of the collection documents the operations of La Osa Livestock Company including correspondence and financial documents from cattle sales and ranch management with banks, land companies, the Arizona Cattle Growers Association, and others. Correspondence relating to planning the Tucson annual rodeo and activities of the Arizona Polo Association are also present as well as personal correspondence with artist, Lone Wolf. There are speeches, correspondence and campaign materials from Kinney's 1932 campaign for governor of Arizona. Photographs are portraits of Kinney and family snapshots.

In the early 20th century, a group of concerned cattlemen took it upon themselves to help structure the future of the cattle industry in the state of Arizona. Their primary focus was the drafting of orderly, systematic laws protecting livestock and property. Biographical note: Rancher and owner of La Osa Live Stock & Loan Co.; Jack Kinney came to Arizona in 1913. In 1915, along with other associates, he purchased the La Osa Live Stock & Loan Co..
